It just goes on and on...

Things still look the same for mummy. I think I'm growing bigger and bigger each day, mummy been feeling nauseous (worst) lately. Tired also, been napping and napping. Two days ago, she finds herself having to breathe hard to have more oxygen in her body. Am I taking too much of it from mummy? Or am I still too young?
She went to see the Chinese sinseh.. said it's normal and not because mummy's lacking iron (which mummy thought so). The symptoms of each pregnancy is different and especially so if it's of different gender - it'll be the extreme cases.

Well, up to date many people have said I'm going to be a boy. So we shall see okay?

9 weeks

The sac in which the baby is developing is the size of a hen's egg - and inside is the baby, three centimetres long. (5cm by the end of the week!)

You may notice a slight thickening of your waistline - maybe you find you can't quite fasten the top button of your jeans. Don't blame it on the baby yet - the baby only weighs four grams, or maybe an eighth of an ounce. It's probably fluid retention.

The baby has most of the internal organs though they may not be in their final place, and they are all very under developed. Eyes and ears develop rapidly at this time, and the beginnings of the skeleton are present.

In week 9 -7 weeks after conception- the fingers are clearly visible.

Visit to Dr Teoh

Mummy's weight : 56.5kg (not much weight gain from the last appt). Umm.... I wonder where all the food had gone? To me? Coz' I've grown alot.............
Length : 12.3mm
EDD : 4th October (mummy says oh great 3 days before hers. So will that make me a Libra too?)
Ultrasound : Aunty Wee Chee says my heart beat is really good and grown tremendously. Still can't tell where is the head and leg, but she showed mummy the yolk sac, which will later be replaced by the placenta.
Aunty Wee Chee asked mummy if she has experienced all the morning sickness. Mummy looked at her and said "I had that for weeks already." But anyway Aunty says that's a good sign coz' it means that mummy's hormones are working well.
Umm... so that means I should make mummy camp in the toilet every time????

Bad bouts of morning sickness; afternoon sickness -infact any time sickness.

Mummy has been experiencing bad bouts of nauseauting feeling. Just this morning, she was getting ready herself and she started "camping" in the toilet for a good whole 10 minutes.
Am I a naughty baby? I hope not..
Mummy's tummy is not well either, seems , like she had too much fruits so her bowels are quite soft. So now, as in now ( 11.15am) she's munching on Cream Crackers to keep her stomach a little full.
Tonight at 10pm she has to start fasting, she's due for a glucose test tomorrow. She requested to do it earlier, instead of the 24-28 weeks, so that she knows if she has gestational diabetes (again). But anyway mummy has been really good, she's been watching what she eats. She actually did the most sad thing - by moving most of the chocolates to grandma's house. And they were chocolates daddy bought back from Switzerland; on their trip to Germany and the latest US. Lots of it and mummy's depressed.
I hope I will make her happy.

Conversation between daddy & mummy

Strange.. but I thought I heard this conversation between daddy and mummy in the night.

D : Do you know whether it's going to be boy or girl?
M :(looked at him in disbelief) The hands are not even formed yet, how to form the penis or vagina? 4-5 months time will know
D : U think if it's a girl, she's going to be as adorable as Athena?
M : Dunno?
D : Athena is already so adorable. I can't imagine another one as adorable as her.

Thoughts running through mummy's mind :
Secretly wishing I'll be a boy. So that can form the 好 word
But then don't mind if I am a girl, coz' can use che-che's dresses which she is unwilling to give away/throw away/sell away. Also,I can go into the IJ school under the sibling phase. If I'm a boy, she'll have to start thinking where to offer volunteering services or maybe where to part her $$$ (donations) to put me in a good school.

My che che

Two days ago, mummy showed che che a picture of me and asked her "who is this? Is it mei mei or di di?"
Che Che(C) : Di di
Mummy (M) : R u sure?
C : Yes, it's di di.
M : U see di di so small, you so big girl.... Di di in mummy's tummy (pointing to tummy), what do you want to tell di di?
C : (Looked at tummy) WAKE UP!!! U stay inside ok?
M : (laughing away)
C : (bathing time started singing.... Rock A-Bye Baby..on the tree top...............)

Today, she came by and asked mummy again.
C : Mummy, I want to see di di again
M : (pass her the ultrasound)
C : U see di di so small, I so big girl hor?

I think my che che is ready to be a che che, she told mummy she wants to be a che-che.
But how does she know I'm going to be a boy.. Wait till I'm older okay? In a few months mummy and daddy will know.

Yesterday mummy received phonecall from Aunty Nora.
Good news! Mummy's hormones went up to borderline case, and asked if she wanted to do anymore hormones injections. Although mummy's afraid of needles she decided to go ahead as her next appointment is one week from now (so far the longest in-between appointments).
Aunty Pek Lin did the injection for mummy and mummy didn't feel the pain at all.. her skills is much better than Aunty Nora.
Meanwhile, mummy's been craving for Achar achar.

First picture of me

Today mummy went for her check up with Dr Teoh because he's leaving for Salzburg tonight.
She did not take any Progesterone injection today however more blood was drawn this time as she's doing the full antenatal check up for German measles; HIV etc... Umm.. if necessary I think she will go back for injection - afterall the assistants can do it for her.
Aunty Wee Chee then did a quick scan for mummy (as she was holding on her bladder for too long - cannot tahan) and although mummy still cannot make up any part of me, she asked for my picture.
Aunty Wee Chee also showed mummy "you see the heart beat?"
Mummy's pretty amazed coz she thought she saw the whole thing beating, you mean the heart is covering most part of my body??
I am only 4.91mm small.
Mummy was talking to this po-po (from Shanghai whom she's bumped into many times) and po-po said that I will be a boy - coz' mummy got all the same symptoms like her daughter (very tired; very hungry). And when she asked if mummy experienced the same with my che-che, mummy said no. She only felt hungry most of the time at the last trimester.
Mummy's tired now. Wants to sleep.... she will scan in the picture of me later. Stay tuned..

Had to be careful

Mummy had to be extra cautious with what she eats now, as she's afraid she might get gestational diabetes (again). So suddenly I've been fed with wholemeal breads with cheese; sausages (no more chocolates); her milk (she says it's yucky). And she decided to stock up on more fruits too so that she can munch on them whenever she's hungry.
Anyway, it's quite scary that mummy gets hungry so fast (and I'm only a teeny weeny size). Yesterday she had noodles for lunch at 2plus(didn't finish it) and then at 3plus she was getting hungry again. I had a taste of a double cheeseburger. Daddy's been really sweet, mummy asked for a cheeseburger he got her a double. He had been helping out alot of housework too. Sometimes it's not that mummy do not want to do but she feels like "dying" and can sleep so many hours in a day. She bought some chilli fishcake and ate there, came back at 4 plus close to 5 said she's hungry again. Okay this time she decided to munch on apple.

How big I am. And changes in mummy's body.

Your Baby This Coming Week

Your baby is 0.16 to 0.2 inches long (4-5mm) when measured from crown to rump. It is now identifiable as a human baby.

The limb buds are growing rapidly, developing into little fins with nodules at the ends which will eventually become fingers and toes. The arms have already differentiated into hand and shoulder segments.

The cerebral hemispheres of the brain are growing, and the eyes and nostrils are appearing. Your baby's heart bulges from its body and the heart chambers are divided and formed. Blood vessels now circulate blood throughout the whole body. The head looks large and is bent on the chest.

Your baby's face is forming, but its eyes are on the sides of its head and are still sealed. The discs that will become your baby's eyes will move over to the front of the face over the course of the next few months.

Bone cells are beginning to develop and the outline of the baby's nervous system is complete. The pigment in your baby's eyes can be seen under the skin overlaying them. By this point there is also a pancreas and an appendix. The tail is still visible, but it will soon fade. The umbilical cord is growing and the placenta is maturing as well.

Your Body This Coming Week

Your nipples may feel sensitive. Small nodules, called Montgomery's tubercles, may appear on the areolae.

Your blood pressure is lowered by pregnancy hormones, and as a result you may sometimes feel dizzy or faint when you stand for a long time.

Morning sickness may continue.(tell me about it. Mummy's been experiencing bad morning sickness anytime of the day)

Cervical mucous coagulates to form a plug in your cervical canal to keep it closed and protected throughout your pregnancy. It will be expelled prior to giving birth.

What's being passed to me

I have been having cold flushes recently (cold drinks), sourish stuffs, Mee Siam or anything spicy.
Mom has been passing all these funny tasting food to me.
And I've been making her very tired. She wished that she can simply lie on the bed; wake up and have someone to feed her; sleep; watch TV from bed. Secretly she's been hoping that I will grow up to be an obedient child because I've been making her suffer so much (unlike my che-che. Mummy had a fuss free pregnancy with her but she says my che-che can be very naughty).
Yesterday she had to make a visit to Dr Teoh, again she was given half dosage of Progesterone and a blood test. Today the clinic called to say that she has to go down tomorrow again for the 100% dosage. Mummy's getting more afraid of needles now, especically when she's already afraid of injections on the buttocks.(not so much on arms)
Mummy be brave... I love you mummy.
