Is there a di-di at home?

Daddy is so naughty, he combed my hair like a boy boy. And then mummy had to take photos of me again............ I wish both the desktop and laptop at home breaks down!

Who did this?!

I was happily sleeping and dreaming of my nan-nan (milk) when some idiot woke me up from my sleep.

I cried as much as I can to attract mummy's attention. And next minute I heard was "Athena! What did you do to mei-mei?"

Mummy then carried me and I was looking at her, about to start to manja mummy.. when she suddenly put me down saying "wait!" Next minute I see lights flashing. See lah! My blogger mummy is more keen in taking photos of me rather than pacifying me.

My silly sister also sticked on herself at the same places as she did on me.

Well......she did remove the stickers after that and I was a happy baby again. Not before I looked at mummy again with my teary eyes and 'pretend to act pathetic look'.

An outing

The whole family went to Ikea (my che-che call it the stupid place) and what else can my crazy and bored mom do?? Take photos of me lah! And she had to place me in funny places to get some photos, lucky thing she didn't place me in the toilet bowl. Anyway, the nicest of the lot (I refused to obey her)

NODDING OFF
At last, your baby's sleep patterns may start to settle down, giving you some rest. Many 4-month-olds sleep for a six-hour stretch through the night, though others still wake for an occasional feeding. Some babies take until age 6 months or later to sleep through the night, though, so don't get your hopes up! Two daytime naps are usual now.

BEGINNING TO INTERACT WITH OTHERS
Your baby's starting to draw conclusions about the world around him. He's looking at everything with curiosity, even his own reflection.

Prop an unbreakable mirror next to him or sit him in front of your mirror when you're getting ready. Your baby won't realize that it's actually his image in the mirror (this usually begins to happen well into the second year), but that doesn't matter. He'll love to stare at his — or anyone else's — reflection, and he may show his delight by an all-out gum grin.

Your baby may stop sucking his thumb or bottle to listen to your voice. By cooing or making noises at him, and by describing even the most mundane household chore, you're not only connecting with him but also encouraging him to express himself. Wait and see if he "answers."

Your baby is becoming more animated and engaging (even with others) — flashing smiles, oohing, and cooing. And the fun has really begun as he's starting to laugh.

When you're with friends, keep your baby nearby so he can hear the richness of human interaction. He'll enjoy watching the antics of other babies, toddlers, and pets, but keep up your guard: Neither he nor they know the rules of safe engagement just yet.

GRAB AND GO
Anything within your baby's reach is fair game now. While he's mastering his grabbing skills, give your baby interesting things to hold: lightweight rattles that are easy to grasp, a plastic or rubber ring to hold with both hands, squeaking toys, or soft stuffed animals.

Your baby will start to favor one hand for a while and then switch to the other, but you can't really tell whether he's a lefty or a righty until he's about 2 or 3 years old.

Christmas 2006

I simply don't understand what's the fuss about Christmas. Why do we have to celebrate? And whose birthday did you say it was? Jesus? Look! I'm not interested if it's Jesus birthday..... I want you to remember 19th September, and that's my birthday.

And what's the fuss about leaving cookies and milk for a fat man called Santa. All I know is my daddy;mummy and che-che. I want my milk, I don't want to share my milk. That is if he wants to drink my Enfalac A+... Anyway, I want to sleep.

This morning, mummy was helping my che-che with the cupcakes and prepared some simple food. And then ma-ma(s), ye-ye(s), duagu, duakim and ah-yi came. I wonder why.... I can see them almost everyday. They came to my house to eat... why can't they eat in their own house?
Then they had something called ice-cream cake. Again, I can't eat anything what! I'm only interested in my milk; getting my diapers changed and sleep. My che-che was so happy that she had so many presents. And...........did you say.... I have presents too? (Ps. forgot to put mummy's present for me in this photo) Ohh..............in that case, Merry Christmas. Ho!Ho!Ho!

My Vaccination

Today, mummy brought me to see Dr Tan again.

Dr Tan was doing alot of tests on me, and she brought out a few toys for me to see. I wondered where it went to, so I turned my head and followed it.
Once, she rang the bell I stopped sucking my fingers but I couldn't be bothered to look for it. Second time she rang the bell, I ignored again because it's not the ice-cream man ringing the bell.

Then she stripped me off my diapers to check on my thighs and dunno what. I smiled at her - wah! shiok siah.. cooling without the diapers.......

She said I keep smiling, and then she talked to me but I didn't reply her at all. I'm busy sucking my fingers lah!

Then I wanted mummy to 抱抱 me, I cried for mummy. Mummy tried to pacify me, but I decided to continue crying to get more attention from her. Then suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my thigh. Waah.............so painful, I cried even louder. Mummy pacified me again. Okay, this time I got her attention and kept quiet even before she stepped out of the room.

My weight : 4.4kg
My length : 55.7cm
Head circumference : 38cm

COORDINATING ARMS,LEGS AND HANDS
Your baby can now wave her arms and pump her legs. And as her hip and knee joints become more flexible, her kicks are getting stronger. Hold her upright with her feet on the floor and feel her push down.

Your baby can also bring both hands together and open and close her fingers. Encourage her eye-hand coordination by holding out a toy to see if she'll reach for it. (Yes, swatting at a toy is a developmental milestone!) Just be sure to move that mobile out of your baby's reach, because she may be able to bring it crashing down before too long.

TOUCHY FEELY
Babies simply love to be touched. In fact, they thrive on it — it's a critical part of growth and development. All that skin-to-skin contact not only helps you and your baby bond, but is comforting when she's upset and soothing when she's irritable.

Nurture your baby's sense of touch with a variety of materials — such as fur, felt, and terrycloth. Your baby will likely try to eat everything, so choose carefully and don't leave her alone with anything that could come apart in her mouth. And look for books like Pat the Bunny that make reading a tactile experience.

Touch — the feel of a gentle breeze or a massage, being carried on your hip, or kissed on the nose — is a powerful way to relax or engage your baby. It may even make her more alert and help her have a longer attention span.

For a simple baby massage, find a warm, flat surface to lay your baby on — a blanket on a carpeted floor is fine. Pour a little baby oil or vegetable oil in your palms and rub your hands together to warm them and the oil. Look into your baby's eyes, and sing or talk to her as you do the massage.

Pay attention to your baby's response: If she doesn't seem to be enjoying herself, try a lighter or heavier touch, or simply stop. No need to know about special strokes, either. All she needs is your gentle touch.

My che-che

Yesterday, my che-che had her school concert. I went along but didn't know what was going on, all I wanted was my milk & my sleep. And the music did put me to sleep.

These are some of the photos of me taken yesterday.

I KNOW YOU!
Even though your baby has been able to recognize you since he was just a few days old, he may now be able to show it. About half of babies this age begin to exhibit an obvious recognition of their parents.

Most likely he'll still smile at strangers, especially when they look him straight in the eye and coo or talk to him. But he's beginning to sort out who's who in his life, and he definitely prefers you, your partner, and a select few over others.

Your baby may quiet down and make eye contact with you, or he may search for you in a room and move his arms in excitement or smile when he finds you. He may even find your scent calming and comforting.

A big spurt is happening in your baby's brain development that coincides with significant behavioral changes. Your baby is more attuned to the outside world and more sensitive to changes in his environment.

The part of the brain that governs hand-eye coordination and allows a baby to recognize objects is developing rapidly now. His hearing, language, and smell have also become more receptive and active. When your baby hears your voice these days, he may even look directly at you and start gurgling or trying to talk back.

EARLY LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT
Research shows that babies whose parents speak to them extensively have significantly higher IQs and bigger vocabularies when they get older than other children, so interaction is especially important right now. Set a solid foundation by exposing your baby to a variety of words.

Talk about your surroundings when you take him for a walk, and point to and identify objects as you roam the grocery store aisles. Your baby can't repeat these words yet, but he's storing all the information in his rapidly developing memory.

If your home is bilingual, your baby will benefit from hearing both languages spoken regularly. Don't worry if some of his verbal skills seem to lag a bit at first. He'll not only catch up later, but he may also excel in his general language skills.

My first's..

trip to the cinema. I marvelled at the big screen with bright lights coming out from it. I wasn't afraid when the sound came on.

When Happy Feet started, I watched about 20 minutes and then fell asleep.

I think mummy had to carry me and I felt so comfortable that I drooled on mummy.
I was a good baby. Mummy said since I'm so well behaved, she will bring me for movies again.
Pictures of me before the start of movie

HANDS ON
Your little one first discovered her hands a couple of weeks back, and now she's downright fascinated with them. Watch as she examines them, puts them in her mouth, and tries to suck on them.

Don't worry if your baby becomes a bit obsessed with her newly discovered digits: This form of self-comfort can be very soothing for your baby — and can possibly give you a little break, too.

STEADY NOW
This week, when you go to pick up your baby, she may be able to lift her head and hold it up for several moments, or even longer, while lying on her back. When sitting with support, she should be able to hold her head steady and erect.

When she's on her stomach, you might see her lifting her head and chest to about 45 degrees as if she were doing mini-pushups. You can offer encouragement by sitting in front of her and dangling a toy.

For a fun game that also develops her neck muscles, place your baby on her back and slowly pull her up by her hands to a sitting position. Slowly ease her back down, and repeat. She should be able to hold her head in line with the rest of her body as it's pulled up.

Your baby may be ready for a jogging stroller at 4 months, but stick to smooth pavement for now. Running trails will be too bouncy for her at this point, unless she can hold her head up well and is able to sit up. When her head is steady, she may be ready for a backpack with good support and a headrest.

READING 101
Reading to your baby, even at this young age, will pay off. Hearing you read helps your baby develop an ear for the cadence of language. Varying the pitch of your voice, using accents, and singing will make the connection between you and your baby that much more interesting.

If she looks the other way or loses interest while you're reading, just try something else or give her time to rest. Take your cue from her responses.

You'll find plenty of good books to read to your baby — such as Goodnight Moon, Good Night Gorilla, and The Big Red Barn. Choose board books that have large, bright pictures and simple text — or even wordless books that have pictures for you to narrate. At this point you needn't be slavish to age guidelines. Books designed for older children can captivate a baby if they have clear, crisp images and bright colors.

You can even read out loud to your child from something written for adult ears — try reading from the newspaper, your favorite novel, or a magazine. Whether it's Shakespeare or the latest bestseller, if you enjoy reading it, your baby will like hearing the rhythms of your voice
